PRICING & PRACTICAL GUIDES
Calculate Walk-Up Book Bundles After Protecting Preorders
At a signing table, individual titles and series bundles draw from the same physical books. Start the walk-up calculation only after reserving the units you have already promised.
Count exact editions
Give each paperback, hardcover and special edition a separate identifier. A hardcover should not quietly satisfy a paperback reservation. Count physical copies available for this event and enter the confirmed reserved units from each order source.
An invented example has ten copies of book one with seven reserved, eight copies of book two with two reserved, and nine copies of book three with four reserved. Available quantities are three, six and five. A trilogy requiring one of each has a maximum of three complete sets.
Recalculate every overlapping offer
After selling one trilogy, available quantities become two, five and four. Selling a single copy of book one then reduces the trilogy maximum to one. Update all bundle choices from their components rather than giving each offer an independent stock total.
Do not add every displayed bundle maximum together: two bundles may depend on the same copies. A snapshot is only as current as the last recorded sale and reservation.
Know when existing software is enough
Beventi supports products, bundles and event order forms. Use its existing stock controls where they fit. Author Harley Wylde lists both Beventi and Google Form preorder options, illustrating why some authors may reconcile more than one source.
The proposed TableReserve tests a narrow companion workflow: manual snapshots from multiple sources, reserved component stock and remaining walk-up bundles. It is not available yet. No store connection, payment collection or sales forecasting is promised.
