An Art-Show Image Pack Checklist Before You Upload

By JuryPack · · 2 min read

An application pack consists of both files and the records describing them. Even well-photographed work can be awkward to submit when filenames, image order and artwork details have drifted apart.

Read the current event page Use the current prospectus as the authority. [ZAPP explains that event information pages include requirements and jury details](https://artist-help.zapplication.org/doc/event-information-page). Record the source URL and date checked. Requirements from last season or another show are only starting notes.

Create a small requirements table: required artwork count, whether a booth image is required, allowed formats, dimension limits, file-size limit and naming instructions. Leave an unknown rule marked unknown rather than inventing a default.

Match each slot to one work Assign a slot number, source image, title, medium and artwork dimensions. If detail images are permitted, identify the parent work. Check that a close-up has not accidentally replaced the overall image. Verify any booth image separately.

Copy exports into a new folder, preserving originals. Reopen the exported files and inspect their actual pixel dimensions and sizes. A changed filename does not change a file format.

Review what software cannot decide Look at focus, color, framing and visible identifying marks against the event instructions. A technical pass cannot judge the quality of the work or guarantee jury acceptance. Review the final portal preview too: it is the submitted version that matters.

ZAPP already provides portfolio and application tools. Berman Graphics also describes free JuryImages formatting. Try those existing options before adding another tool.

JuryPack is a planned cross-application pack checker at a proposed $19/year. It would check user-entered requirements and export an ordered folder; it would not submit applications.
